Saffron Walden is a small market town of about 15,000 people situated in Essex, about 20 miles south of Cambridge. There are many historical buildings in Saffron Walden – some of which date back to the medieval period – and these help the town to retain its untouched, rural feel. St Mary the Virgin Church is the town’s most visible landmark. The church was built during the 15th century and is the largest parish church in Essex. Another place unique to Saffron Walden is Bridge End Gardens, a group of linked ornamental gardens. The gardens were opened to the public in 1902 and since then, residents of Saffron Walden have enjoyed relaxing with the wildlife and exploring the famous hedge maze. The ruins of Walden Castle are in the museum’s grounds and although little remains today, they are also worth visiting. Saffron Walden clearly has a lot to offer, making it a desirable place to live. Our users agree and in the last 12 months, reallymoving.com and our conveyancing solicitors have helped almost 150 people relocate to Saffron Walden.

As Saffron Walden is located on the River Slade, the town is at risk of flooding. Flood fears were realised in 2016 when a school and many roads around Saffron Walden flooded severely. Property damage from flooding is notoriously expensive to repair and as such, buying homes in flood prone areas comes with a significant risk. It is for this reason that reallymoving.com highly recommends the services of our expert conveyancers, as they will provide you with an Environmental Search that will inform you comprehensively on flood predictions in the Saffron Walden area.

With reallymoving.com and our partners in conveyancing, you can be sure that your move to Saffron Walden will proceed as planned. This will give you the peace of mind necessary to relax and begin enjoying all that Saffron Walden has to offer – be it stunning historical buildings or its beautiful gardens.
