Ross-On-Wye is a picturesque market town in the Herefordshire countryside. The town’s luscious river-setting has meant it is sometimes labelled ‘the birthplace of British tourism’ and you can see why because of its beautiful natural location. Nestled deep in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a stone’s throw from the Forest of Dean, Ross-On-Wye is a rural paradise.

There are a number of local sites to explore including the Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo and the impressive 11th century Goodrich Castle, which also provides stunning views of the local area from its hilltop location. On a good day you can even see the mountains of Wales from viewpoints across the town as the Welsh border is just a short drive away.

Twice weekly markets are held in the covered market hall that’s built from a traditional red sandstone. Ross-On-Wye is also known for its independent shops and cafes that bring a traditional character to the town. You should hire only the best RICS verified surveyors to inspect the cottages and terraces that make up most of the properties in the centre. Further out of town, you can find more spacious Victorian and suburban properties. Whatever kind of property you're choosing in Ross-on-Wye, make sure you find a reliable and professional Chartered Surveyor.
