I was hesitant at first using the service but eventually everything went pretty well, our conveyancer and account manager are helpful and commit to the timeline. Would highly recommend.

Oakham is a small country town of about 10,000 people in the county of Rutland in the East Midlands. Oakham’s skyline is dominated by the Grade I Listed All Saints’ Church which dates back to the 14th century. Another notable landmark is Oakham Castle. The castle was constructed in the Norman era and although only the great hall remains, it is one of the best preserved Norman halls in the country. The hall houses one of Oakham’s most quirky attractions, the Oakham Horseshoes. Traditionally, horseshoes were donated to the town by travelling aristocracy and visitors today can explore this remarkable collection of historical horseshoes – the oldest datable exhibit is a horseshoe donated by King Edward IV in 1470. A short distance from Oakham is Rutland Water, the largest man-made lake in England. Although the lake acts as a reservoir for Oakham and the surrounding area, it is not just used for water storage and it is a popular water sports centre. Visitors can also enjoy fishing, walking and cycling along the 25 mile footpaths that wide around the lake’s edge. Oakham clearly has a lot to offer making the town a desirable place to live. Our users agree and in the last 12 months, reallymoving.com and our partners in conveyancing have helped over 120 people relocate to Oakham.

As there are many old churches in Oakham and the surrounding area – most notably All Saints’ Church – home buyers should be wary as they may be liable to pay for chancel repair. This is one reason that reallymoving.com highly recommends the services of our expert conveyancing solicitors as they will provide you with a chancel repair search. This search will inform you on whether your prospective home is liable for chancery repair fees.

With reallymoving.com and our conveyancing partners, you can be sure that your move to Oakham will proceed as planned. This will allow you to begin enjoying your new home and all that Oakham has to offer as soon as possible.
