Allied Pickfords Dunedin

I would rate Allied Pickfords as appalling. We had used this company to move from Singapore to Australia before and they were good however our move from Australia to New Zealand was a disaster. I will try to be brief but so many things went wrong!
Firstly the packing, only one guy turned up to pack pur entire house so my husband had to help disassemble beds etc to fit everything into our container. Our stuff at storage was not repacked as promised. The guys that picked up our stuff left 5 boxes behind. Then our shipment was delayed, the ship arrived in another city in New Zealand and was railed to Auckland. We had to wait over 6 weeks for our stuff. On arrival our furniture was damaged! Plus they were more expensive than the other companies,
There was no apologies just feeble excuses and blaming each other for all of this!
I urge you to not use this company.

My furniture has been damaged beyond repair. They didn't allow enough room in the container and loaded heavy boxes on my table which has caused a crack and a dent. My scotch chest has a dent in the side from something round and a piece has come loose from the draw. They had assured me that it would be find to transport my furniture without crates. Whilst they individually wrapped the metal saucepans they showed little regard for the furniture. They couldn't have been more careless if they tried. They also packed fragile items like lamp shades in with heavy metal objects. You can guess what happened. Please do not sue them for transporting anything particularly valuable. The staff are also a little on the aggressive side.

This move has been an absolute nightmare. Our goods were meant to leave Malaysia before we did and ended up being delayed by one month. You would think on arrival in New Zealand things would proceed move smoothly, but no just more delays and on top of all the money we have already paid out for this move more and more costs are added. We have already had to buy a whole household of goods to get us by, with all these delays and expenses we have incurred we may as well have just sold everything and bought new here. OH WAIT WE HAD TO DO THAT IN ANYCASE!! Im dreading what I am going to find when our stuff eventually arrives!

Assessor didn't show up despite appointment was made 2 weeks in advance and that I had to take half a day off work to be home waiting for his to arrive. I need to follow up with them before they told me no one will be coming to house to provide me an assessment.

Tried complaining to the General Manager in New Zealand. He is not much help and really don't think he cares much about the unreliable, unprofessional and poor customer service that I had experience from his staff.

FYI - you cannot get angry (as I was told it was an inappropriate behaviour of mine) if an Allied Pickford staff told me on the phone he is ready to walk away from my job despite he failed to show up on the scheduled appointment and that I had taken half day off work. Guess customer is always wrong according to the Allied Pickford motto and corporate practice.
